This is a cozy sweet cabin that was perfect for my husband and I
We loved this sweet cabin. It is about 5 minutes from downtown Helen. It’s private and comfortable.
We enjoyed the hot tub as well!
The only downside is no WiFi.
It had all the basics.
I liked the fact that you couldself check in wnd that it was secluded.
It was alright. Not great, not horrible. I feel like I over paid a bit for what I got honestly. It had all the basics. There was a musty/mildew smell when you first walked in and the sheets and towels were damp. The door creaked and was difficult to shut. There's absolutely no service or wifi and only basic cable. Also only two towels are originally provided. I most likely wouldn't stay here again. I could have gotten a nice hotel room for the same price.
Overall the experience was great...with the exception of some details..
The property was great, safe and clean with great parking. However, the property is listed as Helen when it is really located in Sautee-Nacoochie, 5 miles from Helen.
They never sent the check in email to give us the codes to get in and getting a hold of someone is nearly impossible. We arrived and were stuck in the parking lot with another couple from Alabama who ALSO NEVER received the email with their door code.
BUT within 40 minutes or so of us contacting the VRBO management, we DID get and email with entry codes.
The bed was springy and lumpy. The hot tub had a slight leak. The cabin was small but perfect for a couple.
I was very quiet and we did rest very well in the cabin.
Perfect get away for our 22nd wedding anniversary!
We had a wonderful time staying in Bear Paw #1 for our 22nd wedding anniversary trip in June 2018. The cottage was super clean. We loved relaxing in the hot tub after a day of tubing or touring around Helen. Even with the close proximity to the other cabins, the trees and porch curtains gave plenty of privacy. We will definitely be back!
The only "constructive criticism" that I can think of is maybe a sign that is more visible from the drive to let visitors know which cabin number is which. We couldn't see the numbers beside the doors with the foliage blocking the view.
Cozy little cabin in the mountains !
I really don't have any complaints at all. This was a great place, everything worked. The hot tub was awesome. Plenty of towels, the bed was comfortable and clean. The kitchenette and the grills out back were great and allowed us to make some meals instead of eating out all the time. We were on our motorcycle, so I was worried about parking, but cabin 1 allowed us to park pretty much right outside of our front door. I will definitely be booking this cabin again. The only thing I can think of was the water pressure in the shower. The sinks seemed to be fine, but the shower head was a bit weak. Other than that it was excellent. Thank you.
