My family of 2 teens and 2 adults had a fantastic say at this cozy cabin. Despite the fickle weather of October in MN, the cabin was comfortable. Beautiful views over the lake every morning. Fish weren't biting the long weekend we were there, but we had fun trying from the overwater porch. Definitely planning to come back again in the summer.
For those who read the reviews to help with their packing here are my tips: bring coffee for a cone drip maker (no filter needed). and there was a coffee grinder there! The stove and oven are gas (yay!). The refrigerator was full sized, modern and spotlessly clean. Bring smores sticks with you. They were probably there in the kitchen, but just in case you can't do without them! It's a good hour + to the nearest place to buy groceries or bait, so plan ahead and bring what you need. There was a nice supply of paper products, tinfoil, flour/sugar/oil, shore lunch breading (!), and even a variety of spices (Penzeys).
There is spotty cell coverage in the National Forrest, so don't rely on your phone to access driving and check-in instructions. We had no problems and regained coverage near the cabin, but I wished I had listened to the owner's clear instructions to PRINT THEM OUT in advance. Wifi and TV in the cabin were great.
Great experience and would love to return. This is a really special place. Say hi to the otters for us!!
