Nice location, but house needs some work.
The property is in a great location. The street is quiet and quite close to the beach. The balcony offers a nice ocean view and gets a lovely breeze.
Without air conditioning, the first couple of days were uncomfortable due to the ridiculous heat, but once the weather cooled, the house was fine. There were no fly screens on the windows to keep bugs out, or we could have kept windows open at night.
Overall, the house was not very clean. The bbq was filthy, the oven wasn’t cleaned, the lounges were stained and one was broken, the carpet and mats were very dirty and a lot of the kitchenware wasn’t clean. There were rotten potatoes left in a kitchen drawer. We didn’t use the outside lounges as they were dusty and covered in debris.
There were also some maintenance issues that needed attention; the cold tap in the ensuite shower didn’t turn, the main toilet leaked, the bedroom with the double bed had no floor covering and had a sharp edged strip at the doorway, the filter tap had cloudy water and quite a few lights were not working.
The outdoor shower was fabulous after our beach days and the vegetables and herbs growing in the gardens were a delicious bonus.
