Nice location and spacious but needs some attention from the owners
Location is great, quiet street near lots of restaurants, the wonderful coastline and nice short 10/15 minute walk to the town center and main beach.
That said we think the owners need to make some changes:
- bedroom need curtains for those that get woken by the light. the main and second bedroom have shutters with vents on each row that let in lots of light. The small third bedroom has nothing to stop the light from the street lamp.
- cleaning needs improvement. We took a picture of what appears to be the black mould on the dark bathroom tiles. Some of the kitchen cupboards smell a bit mouldy so we felt better leaving food out on the worksurface. When we went up to the roof terrace we found used beer cans and a glass so can only assume the cleaner did not make their way up before our booking.
- jacuzzi was never warm enough for us to use.
The rooms are good sizes and location great so I hope the owners make a little investment if they plan to keep renting it out. We ourselves own a holiday property in another country and understands there is a balance on investment, but it felt like the property has not had recent care to make it comfortable for guests.
If the owners want to contact us I can supply photos of the bathroom tiles and the light in the bedroom with the shutters down.
Hello Chris, since your stay in early July I have been out to the villa for a few days myself in August and am here in the villa again for a week in September to maintain and check the property (as I now live in the UK): the jacuzzi has been fitted with a new control panel and operates as new, cleaning lady has been spoken to, painting has been done and the list goes on. The mould you speak of were seeds from a plant outside (confirmed with the gardener) which I saw with my own eyes - I treat the the villa annually for mould. It would have been a much nicer approach to speak to me directly about any issues you had (I have a very approachable attitude to hearing from guests and always respond to the best of my ability to any issues that may arise). I constantly invest in my property and believe your review to be overly harsh. I am very proud of my villa and as I have stated above, I have just now made improvements where I personally experienced any shortcomings. Regards, Roger (owner)
Ideal Location, nice clean property
Our break was too short, wish we had booked for longer. Great location, lovely roof top views.

Nice villa in a lovely setting
Villa very well appointed, though we never managed to get the hot tub warm enough to use. Very conveniently situated, with plenty of nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Lovely setting. Path down to front door bit steep; worth considering fitting a grabrail?

Bon séjour à Carvoeiro
Nous avons passé un très bon moment à Carvoeiro. C'est une petite ville très chaleureuse et animée. On y trouve d'excellents restaurants. Les sentiers le long des falaises sont à couper le souffle. La maison est bien équipée et bien situé, Nous aurions aimé y retrouver quelques condiments pour la cuisine: sel, poivre, sucre, ...

Beautiful place, great location. Just needs a dehumidifier.
If short stay, bring shampoo and soaps. You will need a beach towel. Jacuzzi is great! Beautiful boardwalk with easy walk to the beach of Carvoeiro.

Restaurantes, lojas, bancos e bares etc são uma caminhada de 300 1000m fácil. Há um supermercado chamado Intermarche, a 5 minutos, o que é o equivalente ao nosso Tesco ou Sainsbury.
