A Step Back in Time
Loved our stay at Coulter Farmstead. Visited with the farm animals, woke to the roosters and loved the attention to detail in the cabin. A great and unique experience. A definite must stay while traveling through historical Washington.
more than 5 stars deserved
beautiful everything. natural beauty, manmade beauty. couldn't have been better. well if it had been sunny i'd have loved to get in the pool. but the cabin was way better than I ever expected. The beds were exceptional. the breakfast was great, there were a cool collection of games that my 4 yr old granddaughter woke up today (back at home) wanting to play. Also a feeling of safety and calmness that sometimes on vacation is hard to achieve. I could go on and on but all in all I highly recommend an experience here if at all possible.
What an amazing place! Beautiful, peaceful and located in a great, historical location.
Exceeded my expectations!
A beautiful cabin on an old homestead.
Bradley, the host, was terrific. Gave us lots of good info about the area and let us wander around the farm and enjoy the animals. The cabin was very cute and clean. Bradley bought breakfast to us both mornings and we could choose a time between 7 and 9. Be ready for the roosters to crow in the mornings. But I couldn't have thought of a better alarm clock. I liked everything about the place.
You should be aware that we had planned on two beds and I have to say that the bed in the loft is not for wimps or people with fear of heights. There is a sturdy ladder to get to the loft but I'd say you need to be in decent shape to tackle it. By the 2nd day I was a pro and felt pretty comfortable. Also, the tub is an old fashioned one with a hand shower. It worked well but you need to manage to get in and out of the tub. I guess I am saying that this is probably not the best spot for someone who is handicapped or physically challenged in some way.
The location is great for exploring this part of Arkansas, particularly Old Washington, Hope, Nashville or Texarkana. It is quiet and peaceful. There is a wonderful porch with chairs to rock on and a fireplace to enjoy on cooler nights. There was a Kureg machine with a variety of coffee and hot chocolate selections. There was also a full sized fridge and a kitchen stocked with cooking supplies.
All in all, we loved this place and would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thanks Bradly if you are reading this review.
My family loved the farm. The history, serenity and the animals, a perfect Spring Break escape. We explored the property and visited Historical Washington. The best thing about this cabin is the host. It's the little details that make the stay even more special in this Historical Cabin. We would return in a minute and wish it were a bit closer to Illinois.
Great, Wonderful, Peaceful and Historic
It's a historic cabin nestled in the words of a pioneer area with best services in totality. Brad makes customer satisfaction his top priority for sure. The cabin we stayed in was made of logs and accurate to the time period plus the conveniences of electricity, heating and Air conditioning. The Cabin is spacious and are equipped with all the modern facilities you must have. Brad and staff was so helpful and courteous.
Go start your own fire and memories! In addition, thank you Brad! 5 Stars!
