A short walk over the Nature Reserve will take you past the Two Riversmeet Centre and into Christchurch over two beautiful bridges perhaps for a stroll along the old mill race down to Christchurch Quay and Place Mill, or perhaps into the picturesque town itself and through the Priory grounds down to the quomps and where there are periodic circus's and family entertainment such as the food festival. From Christchurch Quay you can also catch the old ferry boat down the river to the famous beach huts on Hengistbury Head. Energetic holidaymakers can then walk along Hengistbury Head and back into Christchurch through Wick. A delightful experience. Christchurch has a market every Monday. Popular also for touring, Southampton, the Isle of Wight, Salisbury and Stonehenge are all within reasonable travelling distance. Dorset features some excellent museums, with world leading centres at Bovington (The Tank Museum, telling the history of military vehicles), and the Russell Cotes Museum and Art Gallery in Bournemouth. Other museums include the Dorset County Museum in Dorchester, The Red House in Christchurch, the Royal Signals Museum at Blandford, and the award winning Brewers Quay in Weymouth. Many smaller towns have their own local museums.

Not as depicted on website
We were disappointed to find that the garden which looked perfect for us and our little dog, was completely overgrown with weeds, the patio area and chairs were covered in bindweed and it was basically unusable. Overall the property needs some attention, the carpets are stained, paintwork is generally grubby, glasses and crockery were not very clean. On a positive note, the view from the upstairs balcony was great (though a patio table rather than a coffee table would have been nice), good quality bedlinen and towels were provided, smart furniture and comfortable sofa/chairs. Generally however, the property was not of a standard we were expecting and because of the unusable garden particularly, we left after one night. Some up to date images of the property and garden are needed on the website.

Quais são os elementos especiais deste alojamento?

The area has a host of award-winning restaurants, bars, clubs, theatres, museums and cinemas, as well as countless attractions and places of interest.

With its ponies, protected natural beauty and thousand years of history, the New Forest is Christchurch's back yard and for those of you of a literary bent, Thomas Hardy country is just a few miles away (Bournemouth being Hardy's Sandbourne). Continuing the themes, the tranquillity of the nearby isle of Purbeck was the inspiration for Enid Blyton's Famous Five adventures.

Add to that the National Trust sanctuary of Poole’s Brownsea Island and the historic charms of Christchurch and its famous Priory and you have the perfect backdrop for your holiday - with accommodation from Bournecoast being the cherry on the cake.
