Unlike many vacation rental homes, this house has the owner family’s own personal furnishings and belongings, including many wonderful and interesting books, framed maps, art work, etc that can make visitors feel that they are staying in a friend’s home rather than a space that has been homogenized for renters. Some renters may prefer more contemporary amenities, but we loved everything about this house, its location near the bay and Sakonnet Point, wildlife (rabbits, minks, and many cardinals and redwing blackbirds in song) and other points in Little Compton. A family that is unfussy and that appreciates tradition will enjoy staying in this historical and very comfortable and welcoming home. Perky, who helps manage the property, and Mike, the handyman, were very helpful and gracious and took care of some minor maintenance issues immediately. The gardens are beautiful.
