We had never been to Playa Grande and were hooked by a “secluded beach” and expected to “only see a handful of people throughout the entire day'. If the owners had included, “the beach is very crowded during Christmas, and to expect large groups/music/sunshades just outside the gate” we would never have booked. Instead they emphasized seclusion and lack of people. After two days of crowds just outside, we called to ask about the disconnect between their description and reality. They said Easter is even worse and we shouldn’t have relied on their description! They also fail to disclose 3 video cameras, a VRBO policy violation. We discovered this when our son jumped the beach gate & they called to tell us not to do that-creepy. Other disconnects: no grill or1/2 bath, it’s a duplex (not a house) so not private. The staff were great. Also, the loft can get very hot, the fans don’t cool it, and no ocean breeze makes it in there. The owner’s have a rule that windows must be closed when not there, also at night making the loft and common spaces stifling. It shouldn’t matter if no one else has complained, everyone should know it can get very hot. There are no shades facing west so the sun just heats things up. The 2 bedrooms are dark with no bedside lamps. Part of responsible ownership is accurate listings. This is far from being “equivalent to any 5 star hotel” as described, and unfortunately we learned there is much distance between what is advertised and reality at this property.
