If you are considering visiting Lake Como and self catering, then Eric and Robin's villa is definitely worth a stay. Positioned right by the lake side, and as it says, with a beach which I wouldn't be surprised could be the only beach on Lake Como, you look directly across the water in the direction of Como itself which lies in the south.
Our villa comprised of a nice sized lounge area with a fitted kitchen that had everything you need to cook up some Italian dishes of your own, though the great restaurants are a must too and their cooking is a little bit better than ours!
A spiral staircase takes you up to the bedroom with a soft comfy double bed, a good sized wardrobe and a dresser. A bathroom with a good shower is also there.
Eric is a great host and would ensure that we had everything we needed, would ensure we knew where we were going, and tell you the best restaurants to go to and also the ones to try and avoid. These ones, such as the restaurants by Como Cathedral, do excellent food but tend to charge a bit more, as we found out when NOT listening to Eric!
An amazing part of the charm of Lake Como is the ferry hopping from village to village. The villa is located so conveniently to the ferry stop of Pognana. A 5 minute walk to it, through some attractive cobbled back streets, and you are there to then travel away. The charge is not excessive and is the alternative to driving along the tight roads that follow the edge of the lake. Parking in the villages and towns if you do drive is not easy so again the ferry is the best option.
Como is worth a trip especially to see the cathedral but a must is Bellagio with its stunning architecture. Every where you go, and the ferry view is definitely the best, you will see beautiful settings of houses positioned on the lake edge. We visited two excellent restaurants in Torno and Blevio and you will find on the menu lake fish that is superb. Lenno again is a stunning village and while there do visit the beautiful house and gardens of the Villa del Balbianello, the location for scenes from Casino Royale, and when we were there a setting for a wedding. Now that is romantic!
We would recommend the Waterfront villa for the many reason above but not forgetting the beach to relax on the sun beds and the lake to take a dip in. Cool from the mountain water but worth taking the plunge!
So thank you Eric and Robin for adding to our experience of Lake Como and memories of a great time. Ciao Mark & Caira.
We enjoyed our stay at Como Beach Resort. The villa's are located next to the lake and thus have a manificent view. The resort is well maintained and the villa's are spacious. There is a small private beach, plus the lakes temperature was warm enough to swim in. We visited with a baby, which went perfect.
Thank you Eric for your hospitality and help.

This was the first vacation that my wife and I brought our baby son on and it could not have gone any better. As soon as we arrived, Eric treated us like old friends and provided us with tons of information and answers to all of our questions. The property is absolutely beautiful and Eric provided us with a crib and a bath for our little guy. I would highly recommend this property to anyone and have already brought it up with friends and family.
After our arrival and parking in the free, private car park, we descended by private elevator to the "Lake Como Beach Resort". We were greeted by "Eric", the owner , who greeted us as old friends, and showed us to "Villetta 5" our accommodation for the next 2 weeks. We had a large lounge, complete with T.V. and CD player, a large (very comfortable settee), a large pouffe, and in the window, a dining table and 4 chairs. Completed by a large dresser for storage. The kitchen at the end ,complete with fridge, freezer, oven & hob, completed with a sink with never ending hot water. The bedroom was upstairs with king size bed, large dresser, big wardrobe, and bedside cabinets, and a door to the outside balcony, with views of the lake. The bathroom is complete with shower, W>C>, bidet, and sink, and never ending hot water. Everything was sparkling clean, and in pristine condition. and to top it all the ever present Eric to advise and help when needed. The local restaurants are great value, Le Meridian, and the Pescatore, are really good and reasonable. You can also go "Michelin Star" if you like. Only 200 mts down the road is "Peppo's, the local cafe/bar, and the place to go for friendly, everyday food, and a drink. I will and have already recommend this property to fiends, and anyone else who has been going to the Italian Lakes. My wife and I, can only wish "Eric, Robin, and Jiselle"every success for the future.
Anyone looking for the all round perfect Lake Como holiday then visit Lake Como Beach Resort, a stunning location and view of the lake, Eric is first class and goes beyond the call of duty in helping you settle in if that's ordering Pizza's in, arranging boat hire, recommending locations and places to see/eat or he truly makes you feel welcome.
The resort itself is located in some stunning gardens, the villas have everything you need and Eric always accommodates you if you need anything, words cannot describe how wonderful this place is and how helpful Eric is.
We fully enjoyed our time in Lake Como which was made more special by Eric.
We have some great memories and we can't wait to return and see our new Anercian/Italian friend
Thanks for a wonderful time and hopefully see you next year
All the best Scott & Jen
The location is ideal – approximately halfway between Como and Bellagio, with uninterrupted views across beautiful Lake Como. It is very convenient to a ferry landing and bus route for easy access to anywhere else on the lake, rather than driving on narrow windy Italian roads. For the energetic, a walk up the cobbled lanes through the village of Pognana Lario to the church or even to the local supermarket and Peppo's is most rewarding.
The property and facilities were as we expected from the Internet, save for the rather hair raising drive up and down to the car park. But we had been warned about that by the owners with comprehensive instructions how to access the property.
The property was clean and well maintained. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who assisted with luggage handling, explanation of all the facilities, excursion and restaurant suggestions, ferry and bus timetables and making sure everything in the Villetta was in order.
The only things that would have added to the convenience were a microwave in the kitchen and an on-site clothes washing facility – useful for international travellers moving on.
