I was looking forward to having a quiet, comfortable evening after a long day at a conference. I texted the owner that I would arrive early evening and she wrote a nice note back. When I tried to find the house, though, it was on a busy street and the house numbers were not easy to see. I drove around the block several times, trying to figure out which house it was, and I finally pulled over to call the property manager, who didn't seem to get why I couldn't find it. He finally gave me enough info to find the house, but then the driveway was blocked with cars and I barely fit my car behind them, blocking the sidewalk. I called the PM back...again, he seemed confused but he called the owners (who were not home) and then told me they would be back in an hour! I was getting pretty frustrated...tired and needing a bathroom. There were no lights on outside, and I couldn't tell how to find the apartment ("at the back of the house"). I used my flashlight on my phone and went exploring in the dark, going down some uneven steps and finding the place finally. I began to punch in the code when I heard a BIG dog barking, and a young man came to the door. He told me HE had rented the place! I showed him my dates on my phone, and he realized he was there at the wrong time. He was very nice and packed up and left, and I finally got to settle in, trying not to think of how I was not the only person with the door code. I decided to watch a movie on my computer, but when I looked for the wifi network, nada. And my phone signal was so weak there, I couldn't even use that. I was exhausted, so I went to bed. So much for my relaxing evening. The whole experience was so disappointing.
