Three couples rented this house from March 24 – April 1, 2018. Overall the house provided the six of us with a pleasant place to stay. The beds were quite comfortable; a full washer and dryer were onsite; the gated community gave an extract sense of security even though we never felt unsafe; it was a good location for walking to the beach; and driving to purchase food supplies, etc was a quick trip. We do feel that some improvements would enhance the stay of anyone renting this home.
Due to the wonderful weather of Aruba, it would have been nice if there had been outdoor furniture with cushions that would have allowed us to relax and enjoy the weather anytime during the day or evening. The wooden chairs around the table, although good for using when eating outside, they were quite uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time.
Although the home indicates a charcoal barbeque, we were not expecting a fireplace-like barbeque to cook with. Like most fireplaces, a lot of the heat was lost up the chimney and therefore, it took a long time for food to cook. As well, there is no oven in the kitchen, only a stove top. This was a big disappointment for us as we love to cook. Amenities on the website list a stove and in Canada, this typically includes an oven. We recognize that terminology differs around the world and we are now more aware of what to ask for.
As mentioned earlier, the beds were comfortable but lacked complete bedding. Ideally a bedspread would have been nice to give the rooms a finished look and to provide extra covers if needed. A blanket would also have been nice to have.
We knew from the website only one bath towel per person was provided but this is not enough for average users, particularly for three women. Also, there is only one hair dryer yet four full bathrooms. This was very inconvenient when we were getting ready to go out.
Two of the three bathrooms we used had problems with the showerhead. They are not in good working order and if not careful, water would spray out of the shower and onto the floor. Hot water was also limited. If you were the first to shower, you had a hot shower; otherwise, it was more luke-warm to warm, which on some days, was refreshing after a day in the sun.
The couches in the house are in need of replacement. Not only are they quite uncomfortable, but they are showing significant signs of use.
For the price we paid for our stay. we felt a three star is the best we can provide.
