The cottage is very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and just steps from parks, restaurants, and other Village destinations. Thanks to Janet for being a wonderful hostess!
Another happy guest at the Fair Street Guest House. Hopefully the stay will be repeated again and again.
Cozy cottage in a charming village. Great location & wonderful host.
I had a wonderful 2-month stay at the cottage. Janet was an excellent host. She's attentive, but makes you feel like you really have your own space. I was there for work and the location was perfect. You can walk right into the center of Pawtuxet where you will find a wide range of restaurants and services. People who came to visit me took the commuter rail from Boston for $12 to the stop at T.F. Green airport (no reservation necessary!), which is then just a short drive to the cottage (under 10 minutes). You can easily take long walks and the scenery is beautiful. Also, she has an adorable dog named Watson who you will often see. Thank you, Janet!
Gillian was a great guest, and I was happy her company could make use of the commuter rail.
Everyone loves walking through the village, over the bridge, out to dinner, have a drink, walk home. Glad to accommodate happy people.
Our stay in the cottage was everything we hoped for..Bright and cheerful. Great location..Minutes away from a charming village.
French doors leading to a beautiful garden..The owner (Janet) is there to help with anything you need. Highly recommend this booking..

Always fun to see a review from a happy visitor. Wish I could find guests like this for every month of the year!
Another marvelous stay in this charming cottage!
This was the third or fourth time we've stayed in the cottage. Janet is always so welcoming and full of great information. We enjoy walking to Pawtuxet Village to enjoy the restaurants, bars, and the ice cream shop! We love visiting there. The cottage is small, but comfortable and efficient. The area is very safe. We look forward to our next visit.
I'm happy to see visitors enjoying the village as much as being here at the "Fair Street Compound". (my friends named it). There is plenty to explore between the village, Providence, Newport, Block Island, our beaches, Jamestown... and more. The Lees are some of my favorite repeat guests. They are among several who book a year in advance, so as not to lose their favorite month.
We had an amazing time! The perfect getaway close to everything in RI
We had such a great time in Janet's lovely cottage. Yes, it is not superbig but it has all you need. And the cottage-vibe make you feel so at home directly. We did travel with our 1,5 year old daughter and she immediately felt relaxed in the cottage. We enjoyed the kitchen were we did breakfast and prepared some dinners. It has all you need. The cottage is very bright and has a lot of windows were you see mostly green, tres and the garden.
The yard/garden that you have direct access to through the kitchen doors were such a lovely place for us to hang out in. Our daughter played around and we did enjoy the comfortable chairs. Also there is a dinner/lunch area under a pergola where we enjoyed pizza from the local pizzeria Fellini's and wine. Best pizza we had in RI!
Janet is an superb and wonderful host. We loved to chat with her in the mornings and to play with her lovely dog Watson. He needs a little time to get to know you before he get relaxed but then he is the sweetest. Our daughter adored him and Watson even let her go around with him in the leash :) Janet gives you the privacy you need, so most of the time we could have the yard/garden by our self even though it is shared with her. We enjoyed every chat and time we could spend with Janet and Watson and could only wish for more.
We had some problem with a weak signal for the wifi the first days. We have iPhones and they couldn't pick up the signal very well. Janet fixed that directly by buying a new router for the cottage the next day! Very important for us since we needed to work one day a week with good Internet. Now we will say that the wifi and the Internet is superfast. So nicely solved by Janet. It also were some hot days while we were in the cottage. The AC did its best but sometimes during the day it could be a bit warm in the cottage. But Janet did offer us an extra AC for the living room. We didn't feel we needed that for the moment. But once again it showed how important it is for Janet that her guest are having the best of times.
Pawtuxet is a sweet village with some restaurants and cafe's and a beautiful little park with a small playground for the kids. From Pawtuxet you could easily reach a lot of beautiful places, beaches and cities within 30-60 minutes. Providence is just a 10 minutes drive away.
Overall, this stay was one of our best VRBO/AIRBNB stay and we have tried maybe around a 70 the last 3 years. So we can very, very much recommend Janet's cottage!
These guests from Sweden with their adorable baby were just wonderful. I was concerned about the space because the cottage is designed for two, but they didn't mind the close quarters with baby. Watson enjoyed the baby and both seemed sad to leave one another.
As for the WiFi, most guests don't have a problem... only those with i-phones. What I installed was a booster, so now everyone has top speed connections.
It was wonderful to have folks enjoying the yard and gardens, as well as all the beaches, Waterfires, and restaurants in the area. It makes me happy when people take advantage of all that Pawtuxet has to offer. Hopefully this little family will come again.
Janet has managed to fit everything one needs into this lovely little cottage. I never wanted to go home! The pictures do it justice. It's adorable. The shower is not well suited for really, really tall people but I can't think of anything thing else not to love. I wish the weather had been nice so I could have sat out on the front porch or in the garden!
