Great family setup and convenient location
Kawama tower 302 is a great layout with everything we needed for a relaxing stay-security, pools, parking coolkng and serving utensils, etc.
Prime.loxation for.enjoying all the key islands but still very convenient from the Miami airport. Owner was very responsive and available.
Thanks Carmen for taking the time to leave a very positive review.
Yes, the layout of our condo is great... all on one level fanning out to views of the marina and ocean. Our condo has a separate, private 2nd bedroom with its own bathroom and separate external entrance.
Kawama indeed has good security with 24x7 manned entrance gate and regular patrols of the property. And there are 3 pool options, including the newly renovated Tower Oasis pool for the exclusive use of Tower guests, as well as a brand new pirate themed childrens' playground, newly resurfaced twin tennis courts etc.
We strive to equip the condo with everything guests may want available to them, including a fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishes, utensils, glasses etc,, outdoor electric bbq on the balcony, towels etc.
And, yes, the location is conveniently located not far from Miami airport, and tucked away on the oceanside coast from the hustle and bustle of Intercoastal Highway #1. Yet, there are great restaurants, grocery stores, drug stores, souvenier and clothing stores nearby, including a Super K-Mart where you can find just about anything that you may need.
We, as owners strive to be very responsive to any guests' questions or concerns and make your stay memorable.
We stayed one night and left didn’t even unpack. Description is misleading and not accurate. We walked into water running in the sink and cabinet doors open. After we walked over old ripped rug. The place was filthy. The picture of bathroom shows a beautiful sink. It doesn’t show the horrible bath tub and shower. The laundry room is not in the condo but in a closet outside the unit. The kitchen may have new counter tops but some of the cabinet doors are falling off. The grout is very dirty thru condo and doors are a mess. Oceanfront? Oceanfront to me is looking out the balcony and seeing the ocean. Here you look out to another building. If you hang over the railing and look past all the boats parked right there you see a little of the ocean. The sheets are so thread bare it’s like sleeping in sand paper. The beach was in disarray and there strings of lights all over the beach and trash washed up on shore. When I requested a refund I was told I should have called her or her housekeeper to “fix” the issues. How do you fix this? Oh I was accused of moving the refrigerator to show dirt. There was no need to move the refrigerator there was dirt everywhere. I was told that I signed a contract - beware owner sends you a ton a paperwork that protects them. Not you. I work really hard and get one vacation and expect a nice place to stay. I’m not sure about the great reviews posted but I travel a lot and I wouldn’t stay here. It cost me a fortune to find a real vacation spot. I have pictures of all of the above so if the owner says I’m difficult (after one night) remember this place is nothing like the description.
We enjoyed the amenities of the property the most. The pools were nice and just the right temperature, the playground was nice, loved walking around the lagoon and watching the fish and iguanas. We liked sitting on the balcony to look at the water and enjoy some fresh air. The condo itself was spacious and clean. We needed a kitchen, laundry and preferred having two bedrooms and a crib. The tower was built in the 70’s so it is starting to show its age. The condo has been partially updated with some nice counter tops but there are a few things that could be done to make it a little more aesthetically pleasing like fixing peeling paint, clean grout in the showers, fixing closet doors and the cabinets in the kitchen. You will build some muscle opening the door to the balcony! We really wish this door had a screen so we could turn off the AC and get some fresh air into the condo. We had our 5 month old with us. We unfortunately could not roll the crib out of the master bedroom because it was too wide, and we tried to sleep in the second bedroom but the bed was less comfortable than the master, so we all ended up sleeping in the master together. Not a big deal, but would have been nice to not have to tip toe around the master at night. We had a lovely vacation but just feel a few things could be fixed/updated to feel justified in the cost of the rental. (Although I’m sure the HOA fees are substantial and we did enjoy the amenities so that’s how I justify it overall).
The owner and housekeeper were very nice and responsive which was appreciated. She let us check in a few hours early which was helpful with a cranky baby!
Thanks Kathryn for taking the time to write your detailed review.
Indeed the Kawama property has lots to offer everyone, including pools, lagoon, the point, twin tennis courts, new playground etc. etc.
Our condo is spacious at 1322 s.f. in an open-concept design. The private laundry room attached to our condo is a big plus for many of our guests. The sliding glass door is hurricane resistant, hence heavy. We did at one point install screens, however they proved to be problematic in that they were being torn and the air conditioner was being left running with the windows open.
The Tower building was built in 1993 (not in the '70s) and it, being right on the ocean coast, is under constant refurbishment to keep it neat and clean looking. Yes, our Home Owners Association (HOA) fees are high given the amount of focus on the Tower and the Kawama grounds as a whole.
Thanks for pointing out some paint repair and deeper-cleaning needs. We are on it!
We strive to quickly address any guest's concerns and provide a vacation rental that has all the amenities of home.
We were not happy with the condo. The beds we're uncomfortable- so much so, that all our kids slept on the tile floor in the living room. Beds were full of sand and crumbs upon our arrival. The walls are very thin, so you hear everything from the neighbors, and also from outside. All of us that swam in the tower pool got sick with the flu, and ended up not doing anything for 2 days. The dishwasher is from the 80s. The faucets leak. The elevator broke, and nobody was called to fix it, they just waited a day and it started working again on it's own. The seaweed near the condo smelled like sewage, so we didn't hang out by the condo. To top it off, when you leave, you need to strip the beds, and take all the garbage out. What's the cleaning fee for? I would have rather spent the $300/night at a hotel.... At least we would have got free breakfast and not had to clean. Definitely not worth the money in my opinion.....
Fully stocked, great ammenities
We loved staying in this condo: very spacious, kitchen was well stocked, great view from the balcony and even beach toys, chairs and umbrella. The resort had a lot of extra ammenities with several pools, salt water lagoon, playground and tennis courts. Would definitely recommend!
Thanks Maria for your review. Yes, at 1250 s.f. all on one level our condo is quite spacious. And the view of the ocean is amazing! Kawama offers 3 pools and a salt water lagoon for swimming/sun bathing. The newly re-opened Oasis pool is reserved for Tower owners and guests. This is our favourite pool although our children really enjoy frolicking in the lagoon with its 2 swim platforms. We strive to provide all that a family would need when on vacation here... abundant beach towels, toys, tennis racquets etc. Just pack your bags and enjoy!
Nice community setting in great location
Enjoyed our stay in Key Largo! Just a short walk past marina to a stunning 180+ view of the ocean. thanks!
Thanks Brian for your positive review. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay. Indeed, the beach area and 200' jetty just beyond it are steps away. Many people enjoy the panoramic views from the jetty, especially the sunsets and sunrises.
