4 Bedroom Finca (country house ) of unique character created by the owners, sleeps up to 7 with large private pool and waterfall, 13 meter x 6 meter. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard throughout and maintained inside and out all year round. FREE WIFI.

The property is situated in the small hamlet of Los Juncares, Iznajar where it enjoys the type of location that everyone dreams of ; south facing with sun all day and panoramic, breath taking views across the valleys through olive groves and mountains. Lake view is just a 5 minutes drive and 10 minutes from the property to the actual lake where you find bar/restaurants and water sports facilities such as pedalos and kayaks.

Bedroom 1 with king size bed. Bedroom 2 with double bed. Bedroom 3 (attic room with its original beams) with 2 x double beds. Bedroom 4 single bed with standard mattress .

All the beds are of top quality and have quality mattress's.

Bathroom 1 Family with bath/shower over, WC, bidet and washbasin. Bathroom 2 Attic ensuite to attic bedroom with large walk in shower, WC and washbasin.

Family room having a large free standing wood burner, television unit with a LG Smart TV, Stream Netflix, Amazon Prime plus much more. Stereo music system. 2 x large leather sofas and armchair, coffee table and lamp side table. Large oak dining table with high back leather chairs.

Library/study Large sofa corner suite with table and large armchair, lamp table and bookcases with books. *Bedroom1, King size bed and has built in wardrobes plus other furniture. *Bedroom 2, 1 x Double bed and has a large free standing antique wardrobe plus other furniture and armchair. *Attic Bedroom, 2 x Double beds and free standing furniture. * Bedroom 4, single bed and has built in wardrobe and an armchair.

Kitchen built in units with granite worktops, fitted large fridge, electric oven, extractor fan, hob, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle plus pots and pans, crockery, glass's, cutlery. Utility/Pantry Room next to kitchen having a washing machine, deep chest freezer, dishwasher, hoover and shelving for storage.

Swimming Pool which is not heated is 13 meters x 6 meters and is one depth all over for safe swimming and has a natural stone built waterfall at one end. Decking seating area which is shaded by the grand old oak tree overlooks the fishpond and waterfall at the top of the landscaped garden having a variety of ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and fruit trees of which you are welcomed to pick when in season. There are a number of terraces around the landscape gardens which has chairs and tables and sun loungers including the interior patio/court yard which has a small table and chairs plus a small sofa.
The Barbecue area which overlooks the pool with its built in table and seating. Looking at the photographs will give you some idea of the interiors and exteriors of the property. Any further information required then please contact the owner.

Great Find
Beautifully kept property with a fabulous pool. Right in the middle of the olive growing region about 10 minutes to the local town of Iznajar. Good roads to the property. The hosts live in half of the property and the other half is for guests. There are air con towers provided, generally these would be sufficient, but temperatures reached about 41 degrees while we were there. We would have loved built in air con units, but understand that the cost for this would be high. Pam and Tom were great hosts, very knowledgeable and helpful. Thoroughly recommend a stay at Finca Brigadoon and hopefully will return in the near future.

Thomas and Pamela are very hospitabel people. The house is great and big and the pool is fantastic. We loved the chickens and the beautiful mountains. It is a very peaceful and quiet environment. We were with our whole family (our 4 adult kids) and grandma and we had a great time for 16 days.

I am a retired Interior Designer/Decorator of 30 years from the Wirral, England, UK. I was born and raised in the city of Liverpool and moved to the Wirral peninsular which is across the river Mersey from the city of Liverpool in my early twenties. My wife Pamela and I had our own interior design retail business in the UK for over 30 years of which we had built a loyal clientele over those years through giving a first class personal service. In 2004 we decided to sell our business and home as the kids had flown the nest to move to our new renovated home in the beautiful area of Lake Iznajar (area of national park), Province of Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain which we had purchased in 2001, spending 3 years renovating and extending the property and maintaining it to what it is today and having now lived here since 2004 for a very happy 20 years.

Por que motivo escolheu este alojamento?

When we first arrived at the property in 2001 we knew we had found what we had been looking for even though it was in a bit of a state and that we had a big project ahead of us due to the condition of the property so with our experience in business we set to it and now have a property that we are proud of.

The area of Iznajar is of outstanding beauty with its rolling hills of olive groves and mountains not forgetting the lake which is only a couple of minutes by car down the road from the property. The local people are fabulous, especially our neighbours in the village and take every day as it comes and when it is fiesta time then everyone lets their hair down and enjoy themselves.

Travelling around this area is a joy if you are driving as you don't have the sort of traffic that most of us are accustomed to back home which can be usually bumper to bumper. They say that you have to step up a gear or two due to the stress of life that a lot of us are used to, well we found that living here you can can drop right down to a low gear.

Anyway I could write a book about the area and its customs so you can decide when you get here for yourself as we want you to enjoy not only the house but also the area of Iznajar and its surrounding villages.

Quais são os elementos especiais deste alojamento?

The property is situated on the side of a mountain above the village of Los Juncares which protects the property in the winter time although we don't have bad winters and in the 19 years of living here only once did we have a foot of snow covering all the mountains and valleys but the next day it was all gone and blue sky'. The property enjoys sun all day long due its location being south facing and it is so easy to access due to the roads in this area. There are plenty of lanes and mountain tracks to walk where you can bird watch as well as seeing wild flowers etc., you can also drive or cycle around the lake. Rute is where we do most of our shopping and takes about 15 minutes. Iznajar town is 10 Minutes and has shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and banks and when in the town exploring why not pay a visit to the castle and church both recently been completely restored, you can obtain a ticket from the tourism office to enter the castle. If you like walking or like to bike you can visit the Via Verde La Subbetica ( national park) and is about a 30 minutes drive from the property and was the former route of the olive trains and this route can take you through scenery that you would not see by car and along the way you can stop off for a drink or a bite to eat at many of the converted railway stations. At the old railway station of Dona Mencia you can hire different models of bikes including e-bikes for the day so you don't need to worry about bringing your own and hire rates are very good. The Via Verde in the Province of Cordoba is 58 Kms bike and walking route and there are other parts which continue onwards for many more Kms up to as far as into the Province of Jaen. We ride these routes every other week when we can and always enjoy ourselves. If you want further information with regards to other bike and walking routes then please contact me. Iznajar also has an indoor sports center with a fully equipped gym.
