We had such an amazing time! John was so nice to talk with (Karen was out of town at the time). Only wish is that we would have planned a longer stay. So many things we did not get to do, even just at the cabin!
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! And best wishes for your new arrival, hope you'll come visit again when there are three!
An incredible place!
Wow, a completely authentic 1800's cabin with modern amenities! a perfect setting for a family retreat. A large beautifully landscaped meadow, creek, on a historic site. The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The first floor ceiling is only 6'2" high which was normal for period cabins. The second floor has vaulted ceilings. An awesome back deck to enjoy morning coffee and watching the kids play in the creek. The hosts were so accommodating and ensured everything during our stay was perfect. lots of area things to do and many hiking trails. We have added to our "places to visit again" list!
We're so glad you enjojyed your stay! It was so nice to host your family and find out about all the fun things you were up to in the area. We hope you also got some great stargazing in! Hope to see you again next time you are in the area. Kind regards, Karen and John.
Relaxing stay in a lovely cabin at a most peaceful setting
The cabin was perfect in every way! Beautifully restored with every modern convenience to enhance your stay! The property is so peaceful. The stream runs right behind the property. We started each morning with coffee on the back deck and ended the day with wine there as well. Make sure you visit the Mill. Wonderfully interesting and John is very knowledgeable. There is so much to do in the area! Farm stands, excellentrestaurants, breweries, cideries,
boutique shops, hikes and picturesque scenery everywhere. John and Karen are the best hosts! Hope to return in the fall!
Great to hear that you had a great stay, we enjoyed being your hosts! We hope to see you again in the fall. Kind regards, Karen and John
Attention to details makes a comfortable stay
The log cabin itself is living history, but add in the cool old mill, private tour and clean and thoughtful touches and you can't go wrong. Thank you for our memorable weekend!
We're so glad you had a nice weekend with your family!
Cute cabin in a great setting
Karen and John were great with their hospitality and responsiveness. We commend them for preserving American history. The Mill is on the property and walking distance from the cabin. Highly recommend the tour. We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. We're short so the low ceiling was not an issue but I would caution those above 6'. It has all of the current amenities with historic charm. Kitchen has all the utensils and appliances. It was also stocked with bottled water which is much appreciated. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs - one queen and other with 2 twins. We sat on the back porch and enjoyed the sound of the creek nearby. Lexington is about 20 min away and it has plenty of restaurants. There's a vineyard less than 10 min away, which is a cool hangout. We recommend staying at this cabin. Thank you, Karen and John.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! With all the things to see and do in the area, it was good you made time to just relax by the creek. We appreciate the feedback on the ceiling height in the original ground floor rooms (living room and dining room), one of our first guests was 6'6 and did have to watch his head a bit, but he appreciated the high pitched ceiling of the sleeping rooms! Hope you had a great rest of your vacation. Thanks, John and Karen
