Beautiful property conveniently located in Estoril
Beautiful property conveniently located in Estoril. Cristina was easily contactable and very helpful
We are family of 4, 2A + 2C(11&13), and had a great stay at Kristina's villa. It was just exactly same as pictures, the villa and patio was lovely and clean, the garden was beautifully cared and clean swimming pool. Our boys were really enjoying playing on grass and jumping into the swimming pool.
Thank you Kristina your warm welcome even though we had arrived late night due to flight delay. Hope to go back there again next year!
Beautiful house and garden
We had a very warm welcome at the property of Cristina and José. Really a beautiful cottage. Very nice decorated and well equiped. There is a lot of space in the beautiful garden and there are nice places where you can relax. The swimmingpool is a nice extra, but a little bit to cold this time of the year.
In Estoril is a good little supermarket for your daily grocery. The beach of Estoril is very clean and nice. The walk along the boulevard to Cascais is recommendable. You can go to Lissabon by train, it is a 15 minute walk to the station. Sintra is nice place to visit. It's about 35 minutes by bus.
So we had a very very nice stay at this property. Cristina was always available whenever we needed something and José gave us some nice tips to do in the region.
Thank you for your hospitality, and for making a place where we felt at home.
Over all, enjoyable, but with certain reservations
Earlier reviews are quite right in saying that this property is ‘as advertised’ and is a delightful setting for a relaxing holiday. Set in a pleasant neighbourhood, we stayed in the larger of the two villas, overlooking the garden. It was spacious, clean and well maintained throughout, the bed comfortable. Cristina, her husband and the family are all pleasant and helpful and keen to ensure that everything is in order. The traffic noise issue is a subjective one and depends on what you’re used to. We happen to live in a town, but can enjoy our garden relatively free of traffic noise so we did find it noticeable at first but soon got used to it so while it wasn’t as peaceful as we might have wished, for us the ambience of the garden and pool pretty well made up for that. It is quite a walk to the sea front and a bit of an uphill drag coming back, but for the less mobile there are buses and taxis are plentiful and cheap. There were one or two things that slightly bothered us. Unlike similar properties in the UK there was absolutely no ‘welcoming pack’ whatsoever; no milk, sugar, condiments, tea or coffee so we had to hike to a local garage upon arrival to stock up with a few basics. Not sure what would have happened if we’d arrived at a less convenient hour. To give her her due Cristina did take us to a supermarket next day and this was most helpful. We didn’t hire a car but on reflection this would have been a good idea. When we went to make a cup of tea we discovered there was no kettle or teapot. As indicated in the blurb there is a (small) microwave but no instructions, no oven, only a hob, so not so good for anyone who wants to actually ‘self-cater’. There was no plug in the kitchen sink, which wasn’t helpful. There are lots of places to eat within easy reach. We shared the garden with an American couple and their daughter who were staying in the other villa and there was plenty of space and garden furniture for all.
Unfortunately Cristina and her husband ‘disappeared’ a couple of days before we left without telling us they were going to be away, so we didn’t have the chance to share any of the above with her, which was a shame. We just left without any connection with any member of the family.
Over all, an enjoyable experience.
A little piece of Portuguese paradise!
We stayed in Cristina and Jose's beautiful holiday house for 9 days at the end of August 2014. Everything about the experience was fantastic. The atmosphere of their charming home is very peaceful and the garden area is the perfect place to relax day or night.
The buildings have a lovely warm charm. The house we stayed in is perfect for a couple and has an independent terrace which offer lots of privacy, while still feeling part of the garden area. The place is extremely clean, which immediately makes you feel at home. With Cristina working in a local garden centre, it is clear that she brings her work home! The garden is beautifully designed and manicured, with a lovely pool for the hot days of August.
It is well situated relative to Estoril and Cascais. You can walk to the coast, although it was nice to have a car to explore the surrounding areas.
I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a home away from home experience.
