The unit itself is small but nice. However, during the course of our stay, the apartment was entered, using a key, and much of our personal property, including camera equipment and our passports were removed. Thankfully, an hour or so after I had made my concerns known to the owner, the police, VRBO and a neighbor, the items were recovered, stashed in an outside, lower level, storage area. Obviously, this turn of events seemed very strange, since the owner had informed me that this was not a "cleaning error". We also learned from the neighbor that there are two sets of keys kept in the outside storage area and we were only made aware of one. After this difficult experience, the owner went on to attempt to bill us for a missing set of keys. My husband definitely returned our set of keys to the designated lockbox and I watched him do this. Perhaps it is the thief's set of keys that are missing? In any event, after this bizarre event, I no longer felt safe and secure in this unit. We also lost funds for a tour we had booked as I anticipated having to make a trip to the US Embassy to obtain emergency passports. Fortunately that turned out not to be necessary but the lost tour costs cannot be recouped. So, in summary, if you want to feel safe and secure, look elsewhere.
