Our family (parents, adult children, and spouses/friends) decided to vacation near Barren Lake, Kentucky, since it wasn't a far drive for any of us (5-6 hours). This house accommodated us perfectly! There were two married couples and 4 other adults.
The master bedroom (upstairs) has a king size bed and a master bathroom. There are two bedrooms on the main floor - one with a double bed and the other with two sets of bunk beds. It was perfect for our party of 8.
The main floor has a generous, well-equipped kitchen with the extras such as a coffee maker, waffle maker, griddle, and electric skillet and a generous amount of silverware and plates so you don't need to wash dishes after every meal. The ice machine in the freezer had just stopped working but Mike supplied a large bag of us to us, which was appreciated.
The kitchen table was nice size (chairs for six but we used the bar stools for the extra two people). There are also two patio tables and 8 chairs on the deck.
The living room has two couches and when we wanted to all be in there together, we just moved the chairs from the kitchen table. I am sharing these specifics not as a criticism but just for awareness if your party is larger than six and you plan to spend the entire time together - as we did.
There is another small building outside that houses a pool table and that was a blast! A really nice entertainment addition.
The house has two single kayaks and a super fun large floating mat that our adults kids LOVED! It also has a canoe-type of boat (we didn't use that).
This home has lake access but be mindful that it is a steep climb down to the lake. Again, this was not an issue to us because we just drove 15 minutes to the lake with the kayaks in our pick-up truck. But if you truly desire easy lake access, you will want to be aware that if you have young children or elderly people with you, this may be a challenge.
Mike was very easy to work with and very nice. The home was clean and well maintained.
