The property exceeded our expectations in its location and facilities and was large enough to comfortably accommodate us as a family (two adults and our two (university age) 'children'). It was very well maintained with a superb pool and fantastic views over the Umbrian Hills. Its setting in a very quiet rural location meant that we had a restful and peaceful holiday. There are many interesting places to visit within easy travelling distance, which makes Fontanella an ideal base for sightseeing; we visited Citta di Castello, Cortona, Assisi, Lake Trasimeno, Umbertide and various small villages dotted around the area. We would have done more but relaxing by the pool in the sunshine was too tempting!
The owners provided very good, discrete service and ensured our stay was enjoyable. Their helpful advice about places to visit and local restaurants meant that we made the most of our time available.
We flew to Forli near Bologna - the journey to the property was an easy drive of less than three hours through some beautiful countryside. We would certainly recommed this property to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday on the Umbria/Tuscany border.
